Hey guys I am new to the area. Used to live in Madison area and now am up here and would like to try walley fishing on the wolf. I am not accoustomed to fishing rivers and I was wondering if you can:
1. Give me a decent idea of where to go if I let my boat in at the New london city ramp
2. Any techniques or suggestions as far as bait and or lure set up when fishing the wolf.
If anyone could help out a bit it would be greatly appreciated. We would like to go out this Thursday the 14th
Thanks

WallHunter,

I'm new to the area also. I don't know the Wolf River that well, so I can't help with specific spots, but I have to assume it is like alot other river systems. Three way rigging, or Wolf River rigs, with minnows do well if you anchor. If you know how to slip the current, and verticle jig, I know that works. Try minnows, a piece of crawler, or even leeches on your jig.

The best way right now is to slip the current in the deep long runs with a jig and minnow. There have been guys that are anchoring and trying 3 way rigs and jigging the the best is to slip the current. If one section of the river does not work keep on moving to find the schools.
