| Been getting some flack at the New London boat ramp of late. Someone kicked out one of my trailer lights today and the other day another "local" gave me a good "ear warming" just for being alive. On ONE hand I get flack for not giving enough fishing reports and then on the other I get flack for giving ANY NOW I've also been accused of providing detailed information regarding the fishing up stream of New London so for those of you who have ventured up there could you PLEASE STOP so that these people who have lived here all their lives and OWN the river can have it to themselves so they will stop damaging my equipment. Broken mirrors, trailer lights and key scracthes on my truck will not do anything but give me another opportunity to find out who you are. Those of you who are removing the bottles marking the deadheads in the river are on the same list. I would LOVE any one of these people who think that they can break my equipment, spirit or whatever meet me man to man but in this day and age you can't. Heck, anyone who would do what they did today and kick out one of my trailer lights isn't much of a MAN anyway. If any one saw anything please let me know. Was only on the water from 11 AM to 4 PM, oh yea caught a few walleye between Shirtail bend and the Little Wolf........really. |

Sorry to hear about the vandalism Doc. You're damned if you do and damned if you don't. You just can not win. Hope they catch the freak doing the damage. You do not deserve it. |

Sorry to hear about this situation.
You have done nothing but help to bring lots of tourism dollars to the New London and Fremount area. It would only be a guess as to how much the bait shops, convenience stores/gas stations, restaurants, camp grounds and motels have benefited from your WORK!

| sorry to hear that, come by Weiland's some time and you can park your boat trailer in my roped in yard and we'll protect it. I have never heard of anything like that happening there I have been fishing there for twenty years and it has progressively gotten more and more crowded, but everyone seems to be very friendly and I've never had anything stolen or vandalized. |

| Thanks for the reply. I WISH it was that way and more businesses would support what I do even as well wishers if not customers of what I do, but sadly it's quite the other way. Been said I'm "Pimping the area by owning the name wolfrivercountry.com and a big deal has been made out of communities choosing not to support it in the Weyauwea/Fremont paper. Even the New London Chamber of Commerce doesn't help anymore. I personally think I have made a positive impact in dollars and respect of the river along with teaching lots of people how to fish, including Kids/Parents Fish Camp for the New London Park & Rec that's now may stop too because of lack of co-operation with the P&R's new director. Go figure! I'm sure not many of you know that I set up and filmed the first 5 or 6 shows John Gillespie ever did here in Wolf River Country. Had it not been for a falling out over the FatLip Bait Rig (since repaired as I see John quite often at Stroschein's) John would still be doing shows here with me. The first shows we did in the fall we did not even see one other boat fishing for walleye, NOW look at the fall fishing numbers.
THANK FULLY I do get lots of pats on the back and just enough respect, business and money for writing to keep it going for now. Gets frustrating when the balony happens though. Honestly been considering moving away from New London in a few years. Going to come a time when I have to consider the long term care of my handicapped brother who we care for and if this community is where we want to spend our golden years. Dreamed it would be but as my Dad ALWAYS said; " If you got WISH in one hand and POOP in the other, what do got more of?"
Thanks for the words of encouragement. I'm sure others think it just goes with the territory so to each their own. I'll keep on keepin on. Dennis, as far as getting what I deserve? Heck, that never happens, you get what you get and life's lesson is taught to you in how you deal with it. If people actually got what they deserved? WOW That's the core of the universal question isn't it? God, religion or lack of it, Karma and on all about getting what you deserve. Thanks for the thought my friend and hope to see you some time soon. |

Location: shawano,WI | Hey Doc sorry to here about this,But there are a lot of people that think like idiots around that neck of the woods.Thats one reason I dont live there anymore.Im sure Cash saw something in the lot,he keeps his binoculars handy so he can see everything.I still have a few friends from town but Shawano is a lot nicer.People used to yell at me because I had a bigger boat than they did I guess, who knows.Hope we can run into each other some day and do some fishing. |

| Don't let a couple of a@#holes get you down. You do a good job of keeping those of us that don't have the ability to keep on top of things at least in the mix , so when we can get out we have an idea as to whats going on. Keep up the good work. |

That's unfortunate and uncalled for. Those guys are probably the same guys that vandalised our raft this year on the river because we got permission from the landowner who some people don't like. Not that it's his raft or his equipment, but we are there so we get the brunt of the looks and cocky comments. Guess people don't like it when things change or they have to drift out 10 feet farther instead of running into the raft. Oh well, we are catching fish and having fun which is what counts.
Hope you have better luck the rest of the season, with the idiots that is, I know you will have luck fishing! Maybe we'll see you on the river in the next few weeks, or on Poygan once it warms up a bit and the bite steadies. Keep your head up, I know I for one am thankful for the help and guidance you have given me in the past.
