Location: Goshen, IN | I wanted to plan a vacation up to Drummond Island in the next couple of weeks, because I have heard they have some great walleye and perch fishing. Could anyone help me with some info. on areas to stay, fish, maybe suggest some charters? Any help will be appreciated. Also if I take my own boat, how should I target the fish? If anyone wants to help, but doesnt want their info. broadcast, just email me at [email protected]
Thank you in advance,

I'll be quit frank about Drummond Island. I've been fishing it since the 1960's. Not lately of course because the fishing has dropped off to almost nothing. If it has picked up, it's stunning news to me. Right now the Lake Herring are running in the Raber Bay/St.Marys river area, and that is what I'd be going for. As far as walleye and perch, I'd fish the Munoscong Bay/St.Marys River versus the Island, as the islands fishery has been going downhill for years since the indians started netting around the island. Can't really tell you any particular cabin or resort to call as I stay at my buddies place in Pickford when I go for the herring. I'm sure the Pickford chamber of commerce will have some numbers. Good luck.
