I just got my Lowrance 111 and it has an amazing new feature. You can use the side arrows to bring up a cursor on the sonar screen. I stop the chart and move the cursor on the sonar screen to fish and press waypoint twice and it puts a waypoint on that spot. Enjoy, Doc

Doc,

Can you place an Icon there as well or will it just work with Way Points?

That is a neat feature.

The new Humminbird 900 series has this feature also. As you move the cursur throughout the screen it will give you the depth the marks are at, the gps location and how far you are from that spot as you travel past it in 1 ft increments. It is a pretty nice feature to mark schools of fish on the gps. As far as icons go, you can enter any icon or waypoint you like on the Humminbird series.

Mike,
I have been running my 111 all summer, and as you know it has been warm. I have not had any problems, not to say that the issue may not exist.
Take care,

Duffy,
I am glad you enjoyed the DVD and the Lowrance School schedule will be posted on my website (www.hightechfishing.com) this fall. I am still in tournament season so no scheduling has been done. I hope to expand them to the East this winter.

Doc:

Do you know if Lowrance will issue a software update for the LCX-19c and 104c that will add this new feature to those units?

I don't know if this will be in only the hard drives or all their combo GPS/Sonar units. Doc
