| Bellevue, IA - Walleye Anglers Trail(W.A.T.) announces its 2003 schedule.
The 2003 schedule is as follows:
March 15-16, 2003, Illinois River, Spring Valley,IL
April 5-6, 2003, Mississippi River, Genoa,WI
June 21-22, 2003, Mississippi River, LaCrosse,WI (THIS DATE HAS BEEN UPDATED)
Sept. 20-21, 2003, Mississippi River, Trempealeau,WI
W.A.T. Season Championship Oct. 4-5, 2003,-site to be determined.
Entry fee for all 2003 events will be $180.00 per team, plus an optional big fish pot of $20.00 per team.
The Walleye Anglers Trail teams will compete over 4 tournaments for 25 spots in the Walleye Anglers Trail Season Championship to be held on October 4-5, 2003. The top 25 teams in points will earn the right to compete in the year-end event. The entry fee for qualified teams for the Season Championship will be waived. All teams participating will be guaranteed a cash payout.
The Walleye Anglers Trail will continue the awarding of Show Points and Loyalty Bonus Points in figuring the qualifiers for the Season Championship Tournament and the Team of the Year Award.
If the same 2 man team participates in all four qualifying W.A.T. events in 2003, that team will be awarded 20 Loyalty Bonus Points to their year long total to determine their total points for qualification into the Season Championship Tournament. The top 25 teams will earn qualification into the Oct 4-5, 2003 event at a site to be determined.
According to Walleye Anglers Trail, Executive Tournament Director Harry Miller, Jr. the rules changes will continue to build the Walleye Anglers Trail into the Premier River Walleye Tournament Circuit in the Midwest. The addition of a Season Championship with a paid entry and Loyalty Bonus Points will reward the angler’s who continue to support the sport and the W.A.T.
All Walleye Anglers Trail events will continue to be qualifying events for the Cabela’s National Team Walleye Championship event. W.A.T. anglers will be competing for a paid entry in the 2003 W.A.T. Season Championship and a qualification spot in the 2004 Cabela’s National Team Tournament.
