| Anyone know what kind of maps are available for Devils lake in ND. I haven't had much luck finding any?? Thanks |

Location: Devils Lake, ND | I am not familiar with the Garmin Electronincs, but I do know that Navionics has a great set of data available for the lake. I have been using it in my Lowrance units all year and it is right on the money. It really kinda stinks, because te sots are too easy for everyone else to find know.
You could also contact Warren Parsons for his set up. It works with any type of set up. You need Fugawi to use it, but it is worth the effort. Warren checks in here often and perhaps he can help you out.

The maps Johnie is referring to are more extreme than just contours you load into your sonar. You need know how to use a computer or be willing to learn how to use one or I wouldn't suggest going this route. Other wise you can preplan a day or like some of the guys, find a laptop to take with. There are contours in the form of tracks that can be transferred to the Lowrance for sure, but they don't exactly agree with the survey that was done a couple of years ago that the map companies are using, which I find odd. It's only my opinion but I feel what I include fit the imagery of the lake after it came part way up a lot better than the survey, especially on the small shallow areas on the south side of Pelican. The data I have traced the islands where the other's didn't show any thing. These contours were done from airphotos before the lake rose so they may not show very small breaks.But when you see a stream or follow a road in the imagery, you know its exact and you can see detail down to lone standing individual trees. Thats why you need to be comfortable using a computer.

Location: Kaukauna, Wi. | What i did when i took my first trip to Devils Lake, was after hiring a guide for the day, asked him if he had one. He did, and even marked a few "hot spots" on the map, which proved to be accurate. |

Location: Forest Lake, MN | If your meaning my maps, great! I hope you had fun? Next big question is did you catch any thing? You must have been friends with the guide, like most the pro's they usually hold their cards pretty close to their chest. I'm always checking the maps for things to pass on to Doc. I've got close to a one hundred way points just for the stock ponds so there is a ton of stuff up there to fish.
If you got to see the maps, what I'm taking to Oahe next week will be alot like that when the lake gets back to normal.
