Location: Rhinelander | I use a Trilene knot and have never had a problem, but many tell me the Uni Knot or Palomar are better. Which knot do you use for superlines? |

Location: Northern Illinois | Without doubt - the Palomar Knot. Never has failed me, why take a chance? Also, very easy to tie, so long as you don't stick yourself with the hook :). |

Location: Manitowoc, WI | I use the Palomar knot for every situation. The only time I use any other knot is to tie two lines together or if I am tying to an existing line and do not want to waste time feeding a bunch of hooks through the middle. Then I use an improved clinch knot. The Palomar knot works great for all situations and it excels when used for superlines.

| I use the Trilene knot for mono, Fireline and braid. It hasn't failed me yet. Back-to-back uni-knot for joining mono to superline.

| Another vote for the Palomar knot! I use it for all lines and in most every application except for two. First, being tying a snell onto a sweivel when live bait rigging. (I tie the swievel to the main line with a palomar) And second, when tying a plain hook onto a mono snell. I prefer the snell knot here because it provides a straight pull on the shaft of the hook resulting in a higher hooking percentage than tying direct to an offset eye on the hook. |

| I gave a presentation on fishing knots for a class I took a couple years ago, In doing my research I found that the Palomar is the only knot that does not weaken the line at point of contact,you get 100% of line strength. Most of the other knots fisherman tie decrease line strength by 5 - 15 % at the knot. Kitch |
