| To all in the tournament world...Rick and I received a phone call last night that wasn't expected....
Dick "Hack" Hackbarth is losing his battle with Cancer. Anyone who has ever fished a PWT, FLW, Merc Natl., or an FLW League event knows who he is. Hack is the man behind the scenes, making it all happen.
He's been a best friend to all the tournament anglers for many years, and a better friend you could NOT find!!
He is always there with a smile and words of encouragement when your tournament isn't going the way you planned, and he is always the first one to shake your hand, or slap you on the back, when your tournament IS going the way you planned.
He never let on....never told anyone of his burden...that's the kind of man Hack is...strong and quiet.
Hack had been diagnosed with stage 4 Cancer back in 2004, and even though the Cancer had spread throughout his entire body, he still wanted to be with all his friends at the tournaments. He lived for them.
Last week, after the FLW League event at Au Gres, he was admitted to the hospital one last time. He's not doing well, and he needs our prayers badly.
Please find it in your hearts, to take a moment to remember him in your thoughts and prayers today.

Location: Appleton | Just to let everyone know Dick passed away this morning. I do not have any details but his mother said she would let me know and I will pass the information along as soon as I have the details. |

Here is a prayer I have prayed for years and I feel it fits Dick well. my prayers to his family and to Lord that he welcome a soul like no other to the world I wish to join some day. Dick was a speacial one and man that will be missed.
I pray that I may live to fish until my dying day... and when it comes to my last cast, Then I most humbly pray... When in the Lords's great landing net and peacefully asleep... That in his mercy. I be judged big enough to KEEP

Location: Jackson, Wisconsin 53037 | My condolences go out to his family. I just informed Dennis Skurulsky of Dicks passing, he also sends out his condolences. He is out pre-fishing for a tournament this weekend and doesn't have internet access.
Dick is in both of our prayers.

| Hack is a great guy, and seemd to be in poor health at the last FLW. We hope he recovers despite the poor prognosis that would be his style, to beat the odds), and have him and his family in our prayers. He's a class act and a good friend. |
