Location: Chicago IL. | Man they are thick on the IL river down around Henry and Lake Senatchawine. I was trolling there yesterday and they were jumping all around the boat. I had one around 10lbs come over the bow,hit the butt seat,come thru the open wind shield and land in the back of the boat. It just missed the wifes head!! I used to see them once in a while ,but this year they are wild. I know the Miss has them and I see nothing but bad things comming from them. Seems they like slower moveing water so if you trolling in some back waters where a helmet!!!!!!! We had atleast a dozen of them slam into the side of the boat and chopped a few in the kicker getting into the Mac's prop guard!!! Darn right scarry. |

Location: Loves Park, IL now Mt. View Ar. | I fish the Il. river myself and have seen this before. I live in the Rockford Il. area and they are starting to show up on the Rock River. Not a good thing......Be carefull John...see you at the Il goves cup, and IWT.

Location: Havre, MT | How about having " A Redneck Carp Shoot"? wonder it it is legal to practice a little bit of shotgunning to warm up for bird season. Go a little faster and have them jump behing the boat. |

Location: Rhinelander | Several of the articles I have read claim the fish actually are very good eating, especially if prepared like tuna. I'm just goofy enough to try them, I guess. |

Location: Chicago IL. | I have also heard about the tuna thing. I'm not sure I would eat anything out of the IL in warm weather. I know the comercial fisherman are haveing problems with the monsters tearing up the nets. Last year I foul hooked about a 20lbr in his back on a 3way and it took me for the ride of my life. They are plankton feeders so rod and reels are out. Need to do something fast or the river is going to be in trouble. |
