I have to know. Did I actually see the Lions beat the Green Bay Packers this afternoon? I'm just making sure I wasn't dreaming the whole thing, as the last time I remember them beating Green Bay, I had just past puberty and was sporting 13 hairs on my upper lip I called a mustache.

Detriot now is leading the division, if you can believe that. One thing for sure, over 200000 fans attending football games in a week in Michigan speaks volumes.

I'm not much of a football fan because that would interfere with my fall hunting and fishing. The 90 degree temps drove me to my son's air conditioned big screen tv today, which actually was fun. Sorry sight, moving 100 yards backwards in one game because of penalties. Ahh well, the Packers will win a few I guess, but I will be in either a boat or a tree so I'll miss the whole thing.

I did get out with my son Keith and grandson Cole today to check out our archery stands. It was HOT out in the woods.

NOT PRETTY!  what is happenning to our pack?   seems to me they keep going downhill every year with mike sherman....  penelties constantly and they sure need to learn how to tackle

The Packers lost this game because of lack of offense or any sort of disernable offensive game plan, the penalties certainly didn't help. The defense played very well.

I forgot to mention that the Lions look to be fairly solid, perhaps 9-7 by years end.

Yes, the Packers got outplayed, but be sure to give credit where credit is due. Kirk Triplett and his clown/zebra crew did a great job of flagging every ticky-tacky touch they saw. Reminded me of the Thanksgiving Day game a few years back with exactly the same officiating crew except the Packers won that game despite the officials. A bit biased but the Packers have to play better than that, especially on offense, if they expect to win on the road.

With well over a dozen penelaties committed by the packers and 2 turn over and only 3 points by the offense not too many teams can win a game with that kinda of performance . How long will it take before the coaching staff realizes that a certain defensive back will only hurt the team and not help. Lions won this one but its a long season and too early to tell if there the real deal.

Lunker.

Believe me I wasn't trying to make the Lions out to be the team to beat this year. I've painfully watched them for to many years now to expect anything but a let down, rather it comes early or late in the season. They remind me of the only lap dance I ever had. For 3 minutes I was the only game in town. Then when my assets ran out, all I became was a physical distraction.

Hey express, its ok, some of these Packer guys over here see through some very....well....lets see....green and gold glasses. I,ve taken abuse from them since I moved here in 1990 and when The Lions win one we are entitled to good nature razzing. And yes, the Lions may just have enough depth this season to pull it off.

remember your qb is joey harrington, you backup has NO experience and you coach was run out of san fran because he's a "players coach" nice guys dont win championships and neither do the lions last I checked it was green bay 12 world titles& Detroit still has a GOOSE EGG maybe if you can con Barry Sanders into returning to the Lions you'll have a chance, that way Joey "air ball" harrington wont have throw it at all

Somebody.

If your trying to put a hole in my (Superbowl ballon) you obviously haven't read any of my posts above. I'm thinking my chances of catching a 40 inch walleye are better than seeing the Lions win any titles in my lifetime.

Oh come on let the Lions fans have a good time with this.It does'nt happen that often. The packers had a very bad game and the officiating was not that good either. There has to be some reason for the lose. And by the way Dan I saw on another site that a 19lb 38" walleye was caught on Portage Lake.I'll keep an eye out for a picture.40"can't be to far away. But the lions thing now thats a long shot.

I'd be glad to be the one to pinch you Dan
WOW, that was hard to watch. Thought a couple of the penalties were poor calls, but then someone's got that opinion every game, in every city. Tough job for sure.
Lions defense looked good, Packers D didn't look bad for the most part.

I played and coached a 7 man football team for a lot of years. We had a "second" team playing in a smaller league to get our second string guys some playing time and to find new players. It got SO bad one game that I told the quarterback to just call every play on ONE and we STILL had 3 false start penalties. You know you're in trouble when you got guys that can't remember HUT ONE.

Cudo's Detroit, a good crowd always makes that a hard place to play and you got one hell of a coach. Wanna trade???????

Hey Dan, It's good to see the Lions take a step forward. The problem is, will it remain forward or in Chicago, will they do their old trick and take two back. By the way, are you coming to fish my tourny in Ohio? Cheers, Bo

Risor.

Seems that 19 pound walleye rumor gets started every year around this time. I know that you know, that our state record of 17.3 was established in 1953 from the Pine River, above Tippy Dam on the Big Manistee. So with 52 years of that record not being touched, I'd have to verify that new 19 pounder in more ways than one.

Thanks Doc.

I also thought they were calling quit a few personal (iffi's) on Caroll. And I really don't see that (inner) quarterback greatness, confidence, inspiration and leadership in Harrington, like I do in Favre or some of the others over the years.

And Bo.

I got a hold of Bob and he already has a partner for the shoot out. To bad, I liked the idea of heading to Erie knowing I had a ride in a 31 footer, versus some of the surfboards those guys head out in when the weather is rough.
