Location: Rockford MN | I'm finding it hard to read the boards these days with all the bad things about tours and tour anglers, so I want to start a new post or something possitive.
Who is looking at a new tour or a new rig for next year?
I'm looking into a new rig myself, and even a move in tours. I have yet to make up my mind on the tours or if I even really want to fish one next year. I know that I have to have a new boat and motor but have yet to get started on that one yet. Winter is so long being that I don't ice fish anymore, the shows are just around the corner and I can hardly wait. Who has some new plans for 2006? |

| I'm hoping we will still get to fish against you Gordy!!
Rick and I will be fishing the FLW Walleye Tour again next year. I just ordered the new 620 with an Evinrude E-TEC 225HO yesterday, and I can't wait! I got a chance to drive the new design while I was at the Championship, and it's a really sweet rig. I'm very impressed with it. The details of it have been posted on both sites before, so I won't go into all of that here again....
Rick is going back into the Ice Guiding business this winter. He has got an air boat on order, that is a prototype. It's being designed specifically for ice. I'll get pictures and details up as soon as it's finished. It's pretty darn cool! This will keep the winter from seeming to be soooooo long.
Best wishes Gordy, in whatever you decide to do next year! I hope we get to see more of you...;)

Is there a new kicker out this year or are they waiting til 2007? Heard a rumor of a new E-Tec kicker. Is there a new one in 2006 with a power tilt and trim? |

| Juls,
I am considering a new 620 as well, and am wondering why you went with the 225? I have always been of the thought to max out the motor size. What is your strategy and what are you gaining or giving up on fuel usage and performance.
Thanks,

| I don't have an answer for you Gordy. Eric Olsen would be the man to contact for that information.
Jim,
The 225 HO and the 250 E-TEC are similar. There is only 7#'s difference in weight. The 225 HO is factory tuned for high performance, which it's my understanding, that it will have more power through the mid-range than the 250. That's something that I want for big water/windy conditions.
There isn't much/if any difference in speed, fuel usage, or oil usage either.
So basically, it just comes down to personal preference. I used the 225 E-TEC HO this year, and fell in love with it, so I don't see a need to change a good thing. It's fast, and it's strong, and does the job I need it to do. I'm confident it will be the right choice for the new 620 too.
