NIWC Family Day at Shabbona

Want to get a chance to meet and chat with your club members, arrange some fishing time, how about a day out with the family… Well, you are going to get all of that and more on Sunday, October 9th, 2005 at Shabbona Lake and State Park. Just in time for the “Fall bite”., we are having our first (of hopefully what will be many) Family Day. We will have grills and coolers. Since there is no cost, you need to bring (everything) yourself, and any family members that want to join us, burgers, brats, hot dogs, whatever you would like to have grilled and a dish of some kind to share (pasta salads, beans, etc.) drinks, and silverware and plates for your family. Lunch will be at 1:00 PM, so plan accordingly! The exact location in the park will be announced at the October meeting
Beginning after you get there, there will be a Kid’s Multi-Specie Tournament, for kids under 18. They will fish for “points” for their biggest fish against the Illinois State Record… a kid’s fish will be awarded points for the percentage of the Illinois State Record (if it weighs 3/4th of the record it will be 75 points). There will be prizes and awards! The “weigh-in” will take place all day, and end at 1:00 PM (Lunch!)
