Despite the enormous amount of weeds floating and swirling all over the place, the walleye and sauger are starting to go.

Ringworms and hairjigs were the ticket anything blue, black or purple on 1/8th ounce jigs fished really shallow. The trick for me tonight was to get really close to shallow rocky points and just make really short flip casts up into a foot or less of water and bring it back hoping for no weeds. 6 fish total in about 3 hours made it to the boat. Getting up close to your target was critical tonight because any casts too long increases the chances of bringing back nothing but weeds. Cranks just did not seem to be a logical choice where I was fishing tonight simply because of constant weed tangling. The flow is getting better as is the water clarity and the fish are definately starting to go now. Its good to be back after a loooooong dry spell! Havent been out much lately.

Biggest eye tonight cpr'd at 21". Photo attached.

Thanks for the invite! Good luck to all the participants should be an awesome day!

Here is a fish I caught and released last night 10/28. Fishing was kind of tough mostly due to a straight up river south wind. But this fish was willing to blast a ringworm. Notice how round this fish is. It measured 22.5". They are definately getting ready for winter. The fish was released in great shape.
