Location: Manitowoc, WI | Nice job Purple Skeeter. I know others are going to ask, but what are the size of these fish and how many did you keep? I ask not to get on you about catch and release but to inform of a slot limit on Bay de Noc waters. Looks to me like you have more than 1 fish over the 23" slot size. Just asking.....and trying to not point a finger at you. If all is legal, I'm all for it. |

Location: McFarland, WI | We had somewhat of the opposite results on LBDN. Saturday 10/22 we caught fish on both crawlers and cranks with gold prism AJ's as the key crank and fish came at dusk. Water temp was 53. The next 4 days had a north wind and the bite slowed down. We caught smaller fish with 3 colors of lead and the AJ in 29-32 ft during the day but the night bite was very slow. we fished cedar river, ford river and eskcanaba during this time, looking for better fish. Thursday the wind changed and we picked up a 9+ and several smaller fish during the day on an AJ in metallic rainbow and purple perch huskies. The fish started biting in the shallows at night but our top bait changed to reef runner deep little rippers in copperhead and purple demon. Friday the night bite was terrific with everyone at our resort hitting fish. We managed two over 9 lbs out in the black bottom area but the north end had many fish taken in 8 feet or less. Things will just keep improving.

| thanks purple skeeter. were heading up to cedar this weekend. I think i'll keep Bbdn alone. i used to fish that area quite a bit but the nets have really turned me off the last couple of years. hard to fish around them and dangerous. i wonder how many eyes they get in them nets been doing good at cedar have some spots i wont' see a boat on too. maybe we'll meet up one of these days. also tried gaeno's last friday. big 0. thought that might be a hot spot. that's the latest i fished there. Location: Neenah Wi | Made it up to lbdn for the first time and the weather was just great but the fishing was so so.Well I guess I should'nt be to disappointed we did get a few fish nothing big but it was still a thrill just knowing a pig was down there waiting to be caught.Best baits were the rattlin rouges and reef runner deep little rippers.I think I finally got the snap weights figured out.Lead core is next on the list.Depth control seems to be my biggest problem so far.Should have used the down riggers but the breaks we were fishing were kind of steep and not knowing the contours very good would have been tricky.Ended Mon. with 4-6 small fish 1 24"& 1 27" had to quit early and get a spare put on the trailer.Had a little mishap on the way up.I"ll try to post a picture. We did fish an hour or so on sun. night only one small fish. Also had one of our boards run over by non other than a boat with John (hey buddy let me help you with that) Guilespy(sp) on board. They did go and pick the board up and bring it over and threw me a new bait. Some would have kept right on going.I could not imagine fishing the upper bay on a fri.or sat.we had some yahoo almost run a board over just before the other boat got to us.I guess i may have had them out a little far from what he was telling me.maybe 75-100ft,but still the bay is big give a guy some room jeez.As soon as we pulled a fish someone was right over the same spot.I stayed away from the main pack by third reef just to avoid this.Oh well still was fun.I hope to get up again later this month.

Location: Freedom, WI | I will be heading up to LBDN Nov 23-27 for the first time with some guys. Do you have any advice for where to start, my buddies are familiar with the night bite, but have not done much during the day. Do you guys have any suggestions as where to fish during the day for some eyes and what to use. I have heard that they are still getting fish on harnesses up there during the day. Any truth to this? Any general spots or tips would really be appreciated, as it will only shorten my learning curve. |

Location: Neenah Wi | I did'nt use crawlers just pulled cranks in 24-35' with snap weights it was cloudy most of the day. Some were pulling harness's don't know how they did.Did not see many nets out the day we were there. If i were to go again I would fish the terrace or black bottom area south of town at the bottom of the break line.Less traffic and probably more fish too. Most of the fish we marked were close to the breaks not much in the center north of town. The transistion areas had a ton of fish on them.Hope this helps you out.Good Luck and let us know how you do. |

Location: Freedom, WI | The area Risor39 mentioned is usually good, but I think I have caught more fish in the upper bay this year so far. By the time you go I would probably not use crawlers. The water should be cooler by then, right now it is still close to 50 degrees and crawlers are an option. Your best chance at a big one will be trolling leadcore and cranks. The day bite has been pretty good, but the best time right now is probably from an hour before to an hour after sunset. I will be there on the weekend while you're there, I usually stay at the Terrace. I'll be glad to share some info with you while I'm up there. |

Location: McFarland, WI | Fish the mud rock interfaces both north and south of Gladstone. There are several from Gladstone Beach down to in front of the Terrace. Also start just north of first green can out of Kipling and work the rock edges to the north along third reef all they way to center(switch direction with north wind). Keep baits near bottom in 28-30 feet of water during the day. Due to wind forcast we just cancelled second weekend in a row. Trip is to expensive now days to go get beat up or not get out to the good spots.

We were fishing blackbottom area at night with good 4+'s. When we both went to the back of the boat to net fish I had to turn on both bilge pumps because we would take on so much water. You couldn't see the big ones coming but you sure could hear them. A little scary when your near shallow water.
We'll try to get out there again on the 25th-27th. If we get our deer quickly on the 19th we be there the 20th. Save us a 15 pounder.

| Could anyone tell, If a guy was going to fish between Peshtigo and Menominee and the green island area, where is the best place to launch. Also, does anyone know of a affordable motel in that area that caters to fisherman, has good parking and electric hook up for batteries. If you'd like to share a little fishing info on the area, i won't say no.
Thanks

| Brown, you can launch right in the Menominee river near the mouth. It's not a bad drive to any of the places you mention other than Peshtigo in a strong SW wind.
Good Luck |

| Jayman, are you the same Jman off L. L. The weather next week is no looking very conducive for fishing. Read the Offshore long range forcast for lake Michigan and it looks like 6-12 footers all week. I hope there wrong. If not I'm gonna have to stay in the river.
Thanks for the info on the launch.

Location: Manitowoc, WI | The Tarragon motel is good for fisherman. Situated between Marinette and Peshtigo, it gives you the option of launching at either place as both are close. I think you'll like it there. |

| Brown, yep same Jayman as on Lake-link, I assume you're Ed?
I wouldn't get to worried about the long range forcast for MI. That is based on open water, the bay can be considerably different. But it is a very good idea to keep your eye on the weather this time of year.
As mentioned the Tarragon is a nice motel and very convient. Easy parking for full rigs and a nice establishment with-in walking distance.
Good Luck
