| Spent most of the afternoon fishing a spot catching a few small walleye on what should be an improving bite as the water cools. Talked about another spot close by but didn't pull the trigger until just before dark. OOOOOOPPPPPPPPSSSSSSSS!!!!!!
Only time for three drifts - bang bang bang a couple like this and a couple of "eaters".

| Now that's a healthy looking Wolf eye! Nice work! Willing to share any very general locational advice (ie. Freemont, New London, etc.). Shooting for one last trip this weekend....it's been awhile.

Location: Manitowoc, WI | Nice Eye Joel. Hopefully I will be on the river this weekend. Probably Sunday if the weather isn't too nasty. |

| Don't take the first post as a call to some hot action. Fished the day before and didn't catch a walleye. Had a couple of 10 inchers fall off below the surface that day and on Tuesday. Also caught two 13 inchers Tuesday before finding the little pod of active fish, albiet nice fish. Talked to a lot of anglers who have been working hard to catch a few and hearing rumors of some limits REAL early, long lining shallower water.
Crappie had started to bite again near Weiland's and Kelly at Ma's told me that they were catching some walleye around Red Banks and the rock wall in Fremont. Should improve as the water cools.
My post was to remind people to remember to try different things, I could have had another 30 or so minutes of the low light if I had. Was fishing holes, leading egdes of holes, back end of holes, eddie currents etc, all adjacent to deep water. (normal fall pattern) Found the little pod on a very shallow flat just before dark. I wa susing an 1/8 oz Rattlin Max Gap jig and letting the it glide along without much movement. Could feel the minnow get excited, then stop and if you timed it right you had a walleye. Once you set the hook they'd come right out of the water they were kickin so hard. |

| Thanks Doc....for your reply. A true gentleman you are. I'll poke around in a few of my favorite fall haunts this weekend. The search is half the fun!!!! Sounds like the feeding windows are short. Be well.

| Light jigs or rigs worked downstream of the boat from anchored position.
