Nice. I would have been that crazy, but what thickness of ice is doable. Tried it on the wolf on Sat. No luck, too theek.

I was out there. It wasn't that bad. Water up north was 34 but out by black bottom it was 41. Action was slow in our boat but there were about 20 other boats out there at 6 pm when we headed in. The 10 below temps in Eagle River were hard on the boat and motor. Took a little effort to get everything working when we got to the bay. Heat wave this week might keep things going one more weekend but I did get the ice fishing gear out just in case.

Larry,

What do you think about mid-week with the warmer water? Where would you go if you were doing a day trip on Wednesday or Thursday of this week and tring to find a landing open? I think I'll try to convince my brother to take HIS boat out of storage!!!

Thanks

I was up there for thanksgiving and had good luck, including my personal best 31.5" and around 11 pounds. The fish are there yet, now it is surviving the cold to get to them. We had fun landing our boats the first day, but eventually someone put lots of salt down and made her a piece of cake. Good luck to you guys still going out, there are some hogs to be caught!

It wasn't really that bad. My truck is in the background in one of those pics. Fishing was good on Friday, fair on Saturday when those pics were taken, and great on Sunday. I guess the night guys did OK too, but we were busy eating pizza and drinking beer after dark. LOL

Purple Skeeter:

Sorry for the late reply, I was out of town for a couple days. You should be up there by now. I would fish the west shore both north and south of Esky River during the day and go to the east side of center reef at night if you can get there. Another good spot if the winds shift south is back in black bottom(north east of the red can) in 10-14 feet at dusk. Set your plot trail in daylight as there are some bad areas back there.
