In talking to Bruce Samson today he mentioned people in the Lowrance Class he and Bill Diedrich gave over at Appleton were asking what I was talking about when I used the term "imagery". Imagery is photography that is used to show how things relate spatially. How far apart, what direction and that sort of stuff. Most of the stuff I use is air photographery, but it can be anything from done with a camera on the end of a crane, to camera's mounted on kytes looking down, to balloons, air planes and satilites.
One of the big misconceptions people have is they think a lot of stuff is from satellites. No, most of it that has high detail is mosaics of a lot of airphotos put together to cover a large area.
Hope that made it a little clearer.

Well whatever they are using it sure looks good! You can even see where all the forest fires have gone through as brown patches especially around the La Ronge Lake area (northern Canada) these fires can be in the thousands of acres. But what you said is interesting I didn't know that.

That I'm pretty sure would be satellite. It's relatively quick, cheap if its low res, emphasis on the quick. What I deal with is down to 2 foot resolution at times. Satellite will likely be 100 to 300 or more resolution. But what the heck, you don't need to see boulders if your looking at a state.
