So what's your take with the hiring McCarthy?

Only time will tell if this is a stroke of genius or the beginning of a lousy period for the pack.

Sounds like he has a good knowledge of the West Coast offense with an emphasis on the running game. He has also been around some great minds in football.

No experience with head coaching but I do not believe that Gruden and Reid had any either. They turned out okay.

What's your take?

This move should be good for the Bears.

Poor decision in my opinion. I hope I'm wrong. Nothing wrong with giving someone a chance, but it was pretty obvious Ted had this guy in mind when he let Sherman go. We're not the Saints here, even if Favre retires, we don't have to beg people to come and coach here. Did we really take a good look at all the possibilities? I don't think there was a huge rush to get McCarthy before someone else "stole" him. Like I said, hope I'm wrong.

One glaring thing was missing from the intro comments. I really wanted MMc, or even TT for that matter, to tell us that the No. 1 goal was to re-establsih the home field advantage, or the Lambeau Field Mystique, if you will! Not a word. We need Lambeau to once again become a place where other teams dread to come to!!! Also, I expected to hear them say they wanted to again dominate the Norris Division. Didn't hear that, either.

All-in-all, I'm hoping for great things from the new coaching staff. Hope he can find a good D Coordinator, as we've likely seen the last of Jim Bates. I figure TT really figured he would get Childress no problem, and the Vikes screwed that plan up.

OH, yeah. Who was the idiot that didn't turn off his cell phone?! One of the know-it-alls in our state media. First they say Sherman has to go. Then they say TT was too quick in making that change. Now they say he didn't get the right guy. Sheesh! If they were half as good at there jobs.......
