Location: Combined Locks, WI | Joel, I would be carefull doing fly demonstrations. I have a few seminars scheduled and there seems to be quite a few angry people with me for talking about flies. |
| Well then they will be able to discuss that with you directly March 11th won't they
See you there. |

Location: upper michigan | I hope to make it but wont know till closer tot he time. There are a couple systems in the U.P. that I think would be prime for flies but I havent figured out how to get them buggers to bite on a fly. This should be great. |

| Just got notice of some very nice door prizes. We will be having a free drawing for a 46# thrust Motorguide Thruster, some Mercury oil and Cowling cleaner. Looking for more, will post if I get anything special. Hope to see some of you there!! |
| Got notice that a representative from the Sheboygan Walleye Club will have a table there and also guide, Capt. Aaron Crist. I've known Aaron since he was a kid working in Tuffy's. Nice guy, knows the river and I'm happy to have news of both participants. Should any other club or organization like to join us, it IS free.
More as I get news. |
| Looking to add some new things this week and get some more free stuff to give away, will keep you up to date on what we get.
Also talked with Gary Gray about the "Ice Braker" today. With other activity in the area, I just wanted to make sure that I wasn't keeping him from an opportunity to get paid, as ours is a free event. A laugh I've gotten to know let me know.
Hope to see you there |

Location: Menasha, WI | Doc,
I know you're still putting things together but could you post a schedule of events as March 11 draws closer? I'm planning on coming but won't be able to hang out all day and it would be helpful to plan for the "good stuff" |
| It'll be the same from start to finish, shouldn't matter when you get there. Room will be circled by tables "staffed" with different people talking about different things regarding the Wolf River. There will be panel discussions organized on the stage to accent the information gathering. These will be on-going so you don't have to make it at a certain time to get the information you are looking for. We'll have some new boats to look at from Tuffy and Triton for sure. Also looks like we will have a Crestliner there and hopefully a new Lund too, all under the Mercury tent. All you have to do is get there and ask questions. There should be a number of good fishermen in the room who know the Winnebago and Wolf River system. Make sure to register for the free drawing, you don't have to hang around until the end to win.
Thanks for asking. |

| Just added Jim Coon from the MWS and system guide and tournament angler Captain Greg Karch to the line up. More as I get it. Hope to see you there, it's free. |
| Going to have walleye boats form Tracker, Lund, Crestliner, Tuffy & Triton available to look at under the Mercury tents. If any pro staff member of any other boat company wants to display their Mercury powered boat, please feel free to contact me so that I can arrange tent space. There is also still a little room for any local guides or business owners to participate. There is no cost to display a boat or have a table.
Hope to see you there!! |

Location: Green Bay, WI | Joel always has something up his sleeve. I stopped by yesterday to drop off a my Triton and could not believe my eyes, Joel had actually worked up a sweat setting up the tents and everything. This will be worth the ride out there just to talk fishing and see some different stuff. I will be there all day. Capt. Doug |

Location: Oshkosh | Thanks to Doc and Denny!!!
We had a great turnout with at least 170 people attending throughout the day. Johnny Rocket put on a great show with the flys as well as the few other discussions that were held up on the stage. The DNR Report had the people glued to the displays and the faces on some of the people watching the graphs really showed the concern on the fishery. very interesting stuff that we will have up on the web very soon. Thanks to everyone that made this possible and to everyone that attended. Next years event is already in discussion but you can mark it on the calendar for the same weekend according to Doc. Here are a few pictures from today.

Location: Oshkosh, Wisconsin | Joel had a great time at the Ice Breaker event. Had the pleasure to talk to Shep, Denny, Aaron, Mike, Troy, Doug, Jon and many others. Also had the pleasure of meeting many new people and talk fishing. What a great turn out for the first Ice Breaker event. Enjoyed the panel discussions, trawler information and Jon's presentation on flies.
Joel thanks for grabbing the bull by the horns and setting up the event. Look forward to future events.
Hopefully it will not be to long and we will be open water jigging in the river.

Location: Combined Locks, WI | I want to thank everyone that came out. I really liked the panel disscussion after my seminar. I think this would be a great tool for other topics and speakers also. I enjoyed seeing some old friends and meeting new people including Doc, Denny, Greg, Mr. Bluegill, Capt. Doug, Tyee, Shep, and the list goes on. I am excited for next years event already.
Denny, if you can email me some of the pictures you took or post them here, I can save them to my computer.
Thanks again Joel, Denny and everyone that attended. |

| The ONE thing that the event proved was that Tyee and I could be in the same room for 6 hours and get along the entire time. All kidding aside, it was an excellent chance to meet and talk walleyes. THANKS to everyone that was there, presenters, and guests. Well over 200 people attended and 176 people registered for the drawing, I'll post the winners names tomorrow. There WILL be a second event, plans for the weekend before St. Patrick's Day. Looks like Fremont is the destination for Ice Breaker 2.
Thanks again Gary Gray, Troy Peterson, Greg Karch, Tyee, Jon Piette, Jim Coon, the Sheboygan Walleye Club, DENNY, Mike and Kelly Remme, the Fremont Chamber of Commerce, Chad Cook from the UW Extension, Kendall for the power point presentation, Doug Schreiber, Mike Moon and all the sponsors who helped these people "bring it on". This was just the tip of the ice berg. (sorry for the pun)

| Doc, great job in getting this first one done. Very successful event, from the turnout, and the comments I heard. Was great to see freinds Tyee, Mr. Bluegill, Doug, WalleyeX, Jim Coon, JRocket, and more. Tyee, I owe you a beer. Thanks.
Lots of good info was shared, and the roundtable format works pretty good. Doc, your gonna need more space next year! |
| Good to see you too Shep and thanks for the "blade"!!! Remember to email me your number again so I can dropp off the Frabill panfish popper combo I have for you.
Thanks for the nice comments, and I agree, we are already working on a bigger venue for next year. I was hopefull of that kind of turn out and know we will do an even better job next year of putting on the "Ice Breaker". Denny and I were figuring we would consider it a success if we had 100 people so, after Saturday, we are pretty confident we should go forward with this.
THIS WILL ALWAYS BE A FREE EVENT!! If it's worth it's weight in jig paint, we should be able to get enough $$ from our sponsors and organizations such as the local Chambers of Commerce to hold a bigger event and advertise it properly and let those looking for local walleye information keep their money for other things.
Thanks for showing, looking forward to fishing with you too!!!!!

| Awesome event and awesome date for it! Thanks for the opportunity Doc! Shep maybe I'll take ya up on that beer, you going to Tews? I was plesently surprised at the turnout and it was great to talk with Gary again as those opportunities are few and far between. I'm looking forward to next year as well. Let me know if you need help with anything and lets go fishing!
Good Luck

| Hey Doc, next time your in the Beancity ballroom thank them for me as they were extremely nice in allowing this event at their fine establishment. The 1 pound burgers were top notch and reasonable. It's not too often you find a place with food like that off the beaten path. I will be back for sure!!
Good Luck
