Getting ready for the upcominig season... I'm putting on new line on my 9 Sealine reels and I discover that 3 of the 9 are broken. Either the backup does not operate or the levelwind is broke.

I take very good care of my equipment and all 9 of these reels are less than 1 year old and have less than 200 hours on each. I stored them in a heated dry basement with the drags backed off. WHile on the water, I store my reels and rods covered and padded.... All the reels feel like they are very loose!!

Anyone else having problem with their Sealine reels..

Help!!

what do you mean by "backup"? as for the levelwind, check that the chrome screw on the bottom of the line guide is tight.

Sorry... should have been more clear... The anti reverse does not operate. I took the reels apart and the reverse spring and cog are intact, but don't engage enough to work. On the level wind part... yes the bottom screw is tight but the gears inside don't seam to be intact and the level wind is stuck in one position! In additon to that, the release lever on 7 out of 9 reels sticks in the middle when you try to push it forward to release the spool!

How old are these reels? Seems to me that the original release of these reels had these issues, but the issues had been resolved. I remember Sunshine talking about them. Perhaps he can offer some help.

I see where you stated they are less than a year old. Sorry. I got 27's, and they have been flawless since I got them to replace the Accudepth's.

If you call Gander in Appleton, they have the number of a guy in Oshkosh that does reel repair...I've never used him, but I trust Gander in Appleton.
