| Sand and plastic were a bust today for me... didn't see anyone catch a fish let alone a keeper on the three big sand bars. Spent 3 hours on what had been easy fish and not a bite. Then I tried rock structures. Even with moderate flow they were way way out on the channel end... if the rocks weren't 15 feet under water I didn't get bit. Even with the chop the sun must have driven them deeper...17 degree morning might have been part of it . Fish bit in spurts... small keepers on bare hook with flathead sliding light three-ways, larger fish on 3/8 oz Taylor Tackle Walleye Killer Hairjig with 2 inch flatheads. Once you found then they bit at about a 5 keeper an hour pace. Two largest females were 25 and 24 inchers.. Every fish was released.. even the males.
