| I just purchased a lcx 111 and should take delivery this week sometime. My question is, It tells you it is preloaded with the great lakes mapping. Now I am hearing differant stories that the mapping they have preloaded are not as good as the navionics chips you buy. Why don't they give you a list of all the lakes that are preloaded on the unit? I am heading to Erie in May and was wondering if I needed to update My 2003 xl chip? Thanks Randy | |

That is what they will look like. The accuracy of Fishing Hotspots maps is not as good as the accuracy of a Lakemaster, Navionics XL chart, or Navionics Hotmap. However, for most, they are adequate.

Location: Fox Lake, Illinois | Just got 2 Lowrance lcx 26c hd, same as yours but in the 7 inch. I purchased the Navionics HotMaps for $129 online through Cabela's (everyone else has been out or back ordered) You'll get the lakes on the what's installed on your unit but not the depth contours, drop-offs or structure. Should have mine in and ready to go for the morning, hope it works as good as I've heard. If not, I'll let you know.
