5th Anual Walleye Tournament on the St Louis River and Lake Superior, May 20 & 21.
www.grandslamwalleye.com
Come on up and join us on the river. This is a very well organized tourny with an 80% payback and lots of door prises at the awards cerimony.
Everybody can win something. This is a team event and at the moment the payout is based on 47 teams (what we had last year). As of a meeting we had last week we are extending the payout, with 6th thru 10th getting $200 and a plaque and 11th thru 15th getting equal value prizes. First thru 5th is major prize money with 1rst at $2500, based on the 47 team field. We can have up to 100 teams, our goal, and at that, payout would be over $7000 for first and money would pay down to 15th.
There are a lot of fish in the river at this time (20 to 100 fish days are common) and weather permitting, some hawgs can be taken out of the lake!
For info and entry forms, go to the above address or e-mail me at: [email protected] or stop by Wild River Sport & Marine in Trego and pick up an entry form and maybe a few tips.
Just a note, a fishing license from either WI or MN is leagal from shore to shore. This is a boundry water river.

Is there another spring tourney on the St Louis River, or is this the only one?

I've wanted to make the trip for several years, just kind of surprised there are around 50 teams entered, I'd have thought it would fill.

What's the history on this tourney, is it reletively new, or has it been going on for quite a while?

Unfortunately, I won't be able to make those dates work in my schedule this year. Sometime I'm just going to have to commit to it before other events start crowding the schedule.
