Location: upper michigan | for those who dont know yet there are new rules in effect for the mouth of the menominee river these rules efect the season on walleye wich used to be closed on the Michigan water of green bay and are now open as of April 1st this year you are allowed to fish walleye in the Michigan waters of green bay but there is a limit to how far north you may go. I am ataching the new regualtion out of the Michigan guide book. this opens up some great post spawn waters on green bay. This is a pdf file so you will need adobe to open it. the new rule is under note 3

How is the river doing up there? Do you have any idea of water temps and levels? just curious I love fishing there in the spring.

Location: upper michigan | the river just opened up last weekend the river is running a little low for spring but is generally in good shape they are geting some fish at the mouth of the river with reports of steelhead and brown trout near the dam. The most curent report I had said the docks are not in yet but I would asume they will be put in the next week or 2 as this is the the time when the river gets fished the most. My brother headed down there today and is going to try some jiging I will report if he did any good. |
