| The first WWA Illinois division tournament was held on the Fox Chain out of Antioch. Twenty-five teams encountered a cold front that brough overcast skies in the morning and steady rain in the afternoon. eams could weigh in six fish in the 14-18 inch size range with one fish per angler over 24 inches. Illinois has a slot that does not allow anglers to keep walleyes/saugers in the 18 to 24 inch size range.
The Father and Son team of Jim Miller Sr. and Jim Miller Jr. took first place honors with four fish weighing in at 6.07 pounds.
Second place went to the team of Mike Wall and Scott Falkanger who also brought in four fish that tipped the scales at 5.82 pounds.
Third place honors went to Marc Dunn and Bill Adcock with four fish weighing 5.67 pounds. They also took big fish honors with a fish weighing in at 2.14 pounds.
The primary presentation was pitching bigger jigs, and smaller jigs with a split shot in front of them tipped with a minnow, into one to two feet of water.
