| I have an 1800 Pro V which is designed for a 20" shaft kicker. I bought a 9.9 4 stroke kicker with a 25" shaft. If I use a 1" spacer on top of my transom the mounting holes on the lower bracket will be aligned just into my splash well for easy access while still positioning the screw clamps on the original transom. Will this work or are there other issues to be concerned with. Thanks in advance for the help. |

| I think this would work. I think my concern would be if the motor drags in the water when tilted up. I know they all do when powering up, but not when on plane. |

Location: Plymouth WI | Get an adjustable kicker bracket that will allow you to raise the motor high enough when travelling. you may have to search a little but you should be ablr to find one. |

Location: Menominee MI, In Da UP Eh? | With the solutions listed here, you should be just fine. You may actually find you'll have a little better control with the prop lower in the water with the longer shaft. |

| I tested it and it does get up high enough so that it rides out of the water. I had a gas line run from my main tank to the kicker which allows for straight gas without oil going to the 4 stroke kicker. I also have a steering link to the main motor. My last two issues I will have to live with, that being a black kicker partnered with my white Johnson, and the biggest issue of all was being skunked on Winneconnie Saturday and reading that is where a tournament was won. thx for the advice!! |

| Hey...color isnt an issue. I have the blue Evinrude Ficht with the white Johnson 4 stroke kicker on the back of my black and grey lund. Doesnt bother me at all!!
Now evinrude/Johnson has to come up with a Pro Kicker like Merc did. |

| Evinrudes version will be a 9.9 E-Tec. That is what I am being told. Look for it next year. |
