I just bought a LGC-2000 and I was wondering if my bubble windshield will affect the signal any if I buy one of the GPS adapter plates made by Ram mounts. I just dont want to drill a 7/8" hole in the gunwale of my boat. Do the windshields affect signal any?

Thanks for any input

.Walleye they now have a base that only has 2 screws with an adapter that mounts on the puck you then twist the puck onto the base plate that you have screwed on I have some customers that don't want the hole and don't mind the wire running to the locator

You'll be fine with the GPS Receiver on the dash behind the windscreen. I've had mine there for years, and it works great. Another alternative is to use Velcro to hold it on the dash. You don't need much to hold that puck down. Mine is screwed down, and it's probably overkill.

I always mount mine on the antenna mount just forward of the drivers console and never have a problem.
