| I want to keep a couple fish to eat this weekend from pool 4...if I catch any. Are they edible from that part of the mississippi??? |

| YES, the bass are delicious. Stay away from the Eyes. If you eat the white bass make sure to cut the red lines out. |

Twenty years ago I would have not eaten a fish from the river but I do so now with little concerne. There have been vast improvements in water quality over the years and in turn the fish have become safer to eat. One thing of interest and alarm when you look at the guideline site is the fact that there are almost no waters that are not atleast somewhat impaired. The size of the fish, species, and cleaning technics all come into play when makeing your decision.
