Location: Rhinelander | The weather is, according to the Pros I talked to this morning, looking PERFECT for today and the rest of the week. Sunny skies today with NW brisk Winds and a stabilizing water level bodes well for the bite on the Mississippi here in Red Wing, Minnesota. Temps this morning were high 40's, with a high of 58 and winds forecast to hit an average of 15 MPH up to 25. The weather looks like a carbon copy tomorrow, except the NW winds will drop to a more manageable level.
Many of the boats are making the 40 to 50 minute run to the lakes, but rumor has it the big weights came locally, not all that far from the headquarters.
An FLW chopper buzzed across the opening ceremonies with a film crew cameramen aboard as the Canadian and US National Anthems played.
Stay with WalleyeFIRST for continuing coverage of the FLW in Red Wing, Minnesota.

Location: Rhinelander | Jeff Ryan extended his lead today drawing away from the rest of the field with a strong lead of almost 14 pounds. Kevin McQuoid holds down second place with a bit over 39 pounds. Nick Johnson is in third with a strong weight today. Weather broke the mold today, going cloudy and cool, with a brisk NW wind. Tomorrow looks like a carbon copy, we will see if the forecast meets reality! Stay with WalleyeFIRST for continuing coverage of the FLW on Day Three as the final 10 make the cut.
G3/Yamaha Pro and WalleyeFIRST Moderator Jerry Ruffolo is within striking distance of the top ten. Tuffy/Evinrude Pro and WalleyeFIRST regular Gordy Powers holds down 8th place with 27.813, needing a good day tomorrow to hold on to a spot on the FLW Red Wing Walleye Tournament final day. Tomorrow's 3 PM weigh in featuring the all new FLW stage personality Kevin Hunt should be VERY close....except for first, if Mr. Ryan does it again tomorrow.
