Location: Manitowoc, WI | I've heard and read many times about how we need a good rain to flush the fish out of the Upper Wolf and back into the lower lakes. Do you think this rain we're experiencing will do it? I'm a firm believer that fish will go for an easy meal and comfortable water temps if they're available. It sounds like there is alot of fish up river and if the forage and water temps are there what's to say they won't just stay there for the time being? I'd like to hear some thought on this. There isn't much else to do on a day like today. |

I'll let everyone know next week!!!
I'm on vacation for the entire week and as soon as I get my "honey do list" done, I'm free to fish all day long. I plan on fishing Poygan come h e double hockey sticks or high water.....
I'm going even if the weather is like the last few days... unless work interrups my vacation!!

Location: Winneconne | well, from first hand observations, i went out today for an hour in NL(would have stayed longer, but busted the shear pin on my motor AGAIN), fished with 1/4 oz jigs and 1/2 a crawler, and landed 1 18", and missed quite a few others as they were hitting fairly short. the water level really hasnt come up all that much, but i did notice the current is moving a click faster than what it was say 2 weeks ago. its hard to say if the fish are going to get "flushed" down or not. I do know however, there are ALOT of fish already in Poygan, but 80% of the 200+ fish ive caught out there this year already, have been in the 6-12" range. |

Location: Neenah Wi | I would think that if the fish have good eats they will get out of the mian flow and wait for the flow to reduce and stay put.They will not leave until they have depleated the good eats.So the sooner they do that the better for some of us anyway.Sorry you river rats.I would think a good whitebass run will help more to getting the fish back.Those whitebass will make a dent in the forage thats for sure. |

Location: Omro,Wi. | I don't know whats happening to the eyes on the wolf, but I can say they are coming down in a hurry up here in Eureka.Lots of limits caught the last few days, casting from shore, with a rapala. I put the spot light on the water at night and I can watch them go downstream. They are high up in the water, so I'd have to believe they are traveling, more than feeding. Have to believe the same thing is happening on the wolf too.Last year after a four day rain, you couldn't get three boards out before one went back on Butte des Morts  |

| There are fish to be had now. You have to fish shallow. Did well tue.-wend after work.Allso had 7 perch wend. 1/32oz jig on slips. several cats.as well. Not sure what afect all this rain and wind will have. |

| My theory is the walleyes and any other fish do not turn there head down stream and swim down river rather the current(when there is some) carries them down. As always there will be fish in the river (river walleyes) all year. But with 1mph current and alot of fish going way up for spawn alot will not come down til we get some push. They have to eat so if there was a food shortage that would give them a reason to move around more at night and cover more terrority. |

Location: Manitowoc WI | Sounds reasonable, One thing i realized when i came to duck hunting, ducks can migrate @ 60mph and they migrate at night, they can cover nearly 200 miles in one night.. i wouldnt be surprised if this can be related to walleyes coming down the river, im sure if there is something that pushs them they can all come down in quite a hurry. |

Location: Fremont, Wisconsin | well, its saturday morn and our raft was lit up last night. They figured the same thing you guys figured, the high water will be moving fish. The water is rising and the flow is as well and to cut a story short, I will be on the raft tonight. They are moving. So you dont have to ask, gills landing area.

| our raft has been hot and night fishing has been good since last week wednesday. Most of the fish are running high within 3-5 feet of the surface. SB |
