WalleyeFIRST.com Walleye Challenge
May 20 & 21, 2006

Moderate temperatures, light winds, and partly cloudy sky’s greeted the 25 teams competing at the WAT – WalleyeFIRST.com Walleye Classic on Saturday and Sunday. Our host Zach Boudreau of WalleyeFIRST.com & Tuffy boats hosted the event by providing a fantastic meal for the competitors at the rules meeting on Friday night.
Large baskets of fish were brought to the scale both days by the teams competing for the more than $5,800 in cash and prizes.

Average weight: 2.49 lbs.
Big Fish: 8.75 lbs.
The team of Pete Jopke of Mazomanie, WI. & James Myszkewicz of Burlington, WI. took the 1st. place trophy and a check for $2,000 in impressive fashion by bringing in a huge 1st. day basket (5 fish) weighing in at 29.70 lbs. for a tournament total of 43.45 lbs. Pete & Jim also earned the Okuma “High Performance” Award (2 Insipra spinning reels) for the largest one day basket of fish.
Second place with a check for $1,100 went to the team of Terry Mueller of Stoddard, WI. & Mike Martine of Chaseburg, WI. who racked up a 2 day total of 37.00 lbs.
The team of Troy Patterson of Trempealeau, WI & Dave Washa of LaCrosse, WI. captured 3rd. place and a check for $800 by bringing in a total of 30.85 lbs. for the two day event. Troy & Dave also took home the Big Fish Award and $250 by bringing in a 8.75 lb. beauty on day 1 of the event.
