| Spring Valley Brothers Capture Title of
"Walleye Anglers of The Year"
The Illinois Walleye Trail completed its 2006 Season on May 20, 21, 2006. Gary Merkel and Bruce Merkel of Spring Valley
Competeing againist 255 teams for the year accumulated the most points based on their place of finish for the 6 tournaments. Five dollars of each team's entry goes into the Anglers of the year fund and at the season final 80% of the fund goes to the highest point leaders and the other 20% goes to the 2nd place team. Gary and Bruce earned $1,020.00 along with a $1,000.00 Certificate from Mercury Marine. Second place went to John Dalzot and Tom Giachetto Jr. for $255.00.
