with reversing winds the past few days and a definite front moving in and through with overnight temps. bringing in a frost and readings at 26' this morning we began our 5-hour fishing trip a bit later with Dave, Dan and Mike.
Bait choices were "walleye's choice" crawler harness's http://www.walleyeschoice.com and bottom-bouncers working the upper Bays waters from 30 to 21 feet of water using in-line planer boards spreading lines and at trolling speeds of .8 to 1.4 mph.
Water temps. running in the lower 50' mark.
Earlier morning bites were seen with calm seas and mid-morning getting south and southwest winds picking up.
Fish between 17 and 23 inches were kept, loosing several and also catching several undersize walleye.
The guys had a fun day on the water for a first time trip planning to return,
In talking with a few anglers later today there appeared to being a bite on the upper end flats from the Days River/Whitefish with best presentations being drifting live-bait rigs, jigs and floater jigs tipped with crawler pieces.
Several anglers also talking of some nice perch they caught as well.
The upcoming forecasts showing us warming weather should definitely perk the fishing bite!
Here's a photo of todays catch;
