Risor39 Posted 5/22/2006 10:39 PM (#44088) Subject: Winnebago report 5/22 Member Posts: 377 Location: Neenah Wi Well finaly got out on the lake to try some trolling and we got a late start as I had to replace a lost bearing buddy.I have no idea where it went.Well anyway we started off rasmussen reef and headed south puling cranks and didn't get squat.So decide to switch to harness's near gerkes reef and we did not go more than 15 min and had our first fish in the boat.We continued on for an hour or so and managed to get 2 more small fish and had to beat the daughter home from school.Just before we decided to leave back goes the board and hard then out of sight,yup you guessed it a sturgeon.Then along came the local warden to check our license as we were trying to get the board back from the dinasaur.Managed to get everything back and end it on a good note.I'll be back out tommorow and give it a whirl a little earlier this time. On Wed I went out for a while longer to the Outer Bar -- drifted for a while until it got too crowded then set anchor and bobber fished -- few sheephead and a couple small perch. Of the other six boats there, I saw only a few eyes caught. After a while I trolled back towards the Jefferson launch and got nothing. Water temp is still only 57, hopefully it'll warm up today and fishing will pick up for this evening and tomorrow.
