I thought I heard this past summer that someone had bought the patent (as it had expired) and the machines to make them again. You know..the old way when they were in many different colors and for some reason they worked better than the new style. I can't remember where I haear this but if anyone know anything about this, let me and others know so we can get them again!!

Thanks~ Big Grass

I have a bunch of the old style Thunder Sticks I got years ago from Doc Parsons ( maybe it was that Kavajecz guy, not sure). I guard them carefully, as they are KILLER on big pike and 'eyes on Wabigoon if the bite is tough.

The Normark company (Rapala) now owns Storm lures.

It's my understanding that one of the Storm brothers will be coming out with Aj's and Dj's under a different name.

They already have Hot 'n Tot copies out.

Pure garbage and bunk!!! I've heard this now for 2 years...."someone is coming out with a DJ"....so where are they? Rumors, rumors, rumors....when I see the "new" DJ I'll believe it. And, when it's as effective as the old one, I'll sell the 500 or so I have.

I have personally seen this remake of the old dj's. I have yet to run one yet. So I won't go on record that they are coming but I did mic the two of them to be identical. The one that I saw was in purple prizm. I don't know how they will hold up under fishing conditions. I have an order in for a couple hundred, and will let you know more when I get them. Rick NPAA#231

Hey Rick who started remaking them? Hopefully they did cuz there a great lure and the best color i ever had was the purple prizm! I'd be interested in buying a few. I'm sure some day someone will make a lure identical to the old Deep Juniors. And colors to match. Guess what they'll be sitting on a butt load of money. Well anyways I'm interested to see the new DJ's if theres any way you can get a picture of them. Well thanks again. Hogslammer

I realize thet Normark bought out Storm but as I have learned, it looks as if they are going to be made under a different name with the same look, feel and color of the old ones. I too have heard the 'ol tales of when "purple Prizm" was THE color and bait in t-sticks. Unfortunatly, I don't own that color.

Rich Z., Please keep us, well at least me, posted as to the production and procurment of some of these "new" baits once they are on the market!!

Thanks for all the info!!

Okay....here's the deal. A well-known bait shop owner and I are working on getting some DJ "copycats". They are near exact to the old DJ. We should know whether we'll have any within the next 3-4 weeks.

As for Normark/Rapala making them.....that's why I say BS to the rumors. If they were going to do this, I think they would already have done it.

The Man,
No idea why you have trouble catching fish on them. I troll them about 20 yards off the weedlines over the primary break flatlined, no board, on my favorite Canadien fishing hole if I can't find a fish casting. They have treated me well, with walleyes up to 10 and pike to 20#.

I saw the packaging for those relica Deep jr's over the weekend. A soft plastic bag. It didn't have the name on it yet though. The color I saw was a purple prizm and was told there will be 7 differet colors.

Hey everyone,
I found a source for about 50 of the old Thundersticks, most have never seen the water. I can get the lot, but don't know what to pay. What are the baits worth?

Steve,

I have bought some out on eBay, as that seems to be the place to look for specific colors. If a guy bought everything out there, he couldn't afford the boat to pull them! From what I've seen, the Glitter (GDJ) and prism colors usually go for between $10.00 and $17.00 a piece. The metallics also fall in that range, and some can get more expensive than that. The normal "glossy" finishes can start around $6.00 and go up to around $10.00. Hope this gives you some kind of "what are they worth" factor.

Dave.

P.S. If you're looking for someone to split the cost with, let me know
