I live in LaCrosse,Wis. and my younger brother was telling me about a "towing
jig", that they were catching walleyes on.I use jigs must of the time and I asked
him what he was drinking, I said any jig your towing is a towing jig or does it
have a strange shape, or am I wrong.
Need help on thus one.

I'm from the LaCrosse area and have never heard of a "towing jig". I have to assume it is just a leadhead jig being trolled or dragged at a quick pace. I've caught many eyes dragging jigs with live bait or ringworms on the Mississippi over the last few years. As far as trolling jigs, I prefer to snap jig down stream instead of trolling them because they are hard to keep a consistant depth.
I'd ask your brother to email you a picture. I did a Google search and didn't come up with any decent results. This is something either extremely local to a small town or just a different way of explaining one of the techniques above. | |
