Many thanks to purple skeeter. FNG at this whole board thing. Figured I'd give it a crack today. But like all good feesherman, noticed what was working and switched tactics.

Another beeg water day, this time with some variable precipitation. Still break in time, so feegured I heet the water for a few hours. Launched at 530. Wind was howling. No rain, yet, but that started in a few hours. Feeshed till 9am.

Was waiting to try my new offshores. Got some teeps on making my own tattle tails, which worked nice. Really tell if you're draggin a small sheep or some weeds.

Worked the top of the calumet road reef, a reef thats been good to me. Tops out at 6 feet, and with that weecked south wind, it was active with feesh. A couple of passes and got a small walleye (no sheeps). #5 shad rap in lime/white. 2 boards at 1.2 to 1.8, and some snappin of the throttle. 20 feet back of board with 80 feet out. A good start. Did it for an hour or so then noticed a number of boats on the reef next door. Nobody trollin, everyone dreeftin.

So, boards and rods away, and broke out the little jeegs. 1/8 to 1/4 oz in green and yellow. (Orange good, but sheeps key on this reeg.) Dreefted using the keecker to slow me down (forgot sock and anchor at trailer). One dead steeck with yellow jeeg and 1/2 crawler (got beeggest feesh). The other one green with leech.

Dead steeck worked the channel just outside the reef at 8-10FOW. I then casted the tops of the reef with the lights green jeeg and leech. Lots of action. You cast it out over the reef, and that high wind chop kinda played with it. One you feel tension, it was a feesh. Burnt through 2 dozen leeches in 50 meenutes. Sweetched to nightcrawlers, and bite continued.

9 walleyes, between 12 and 16. lots of lost feesh (sheeps dont come unhooked). Kept 4 for deenner. Rough out there, but was on the water for 3 hours.

I gotta get some of that rainfree stuff for my windshield.

yes it was weeendy and wet we had the same luck jiggin. we were out on the 2 mile hup out of fishermans road. Theeyes were stacked in there. we left with 10 eyes 14-18 inches but hard to fish. Got a wet butt and a bunch of eyes with my father on fathers day. But you are right i had to use tiny jigs cause they were biting light.
