Well, the waves were beeg, the wind was beeg, the heat was beeg. And the optimism was beeg. With a big thanks to purple skeeter and some teeps, was working on getting a program together on winnebago. Plenty of fishing to be had, with lots of program refinements coming.
Spent the first part of the morning feeguring out this snapweight thingy. Did the 50/50 method with a 1/2 oz weight on a rock bottom between 2 sand bars. Nice spot. About 8-10 FOW @ 72 degree temp. Speed at .8 to 1.1, with a "snap" every now and then with the throttle. Used a copper hatchet blade, #5 or so, on a hand tied crawler harnesses bought over the winter. Straight line right off the back of the boat, well sides in the new scotty rod holders.
3 walleyes no beegger than 15 inches, lots of sheepshead, 2 white bass, and some perch.
Took the familia for a boat ride and took it easy. Otter Street had their tournament today (beeg local tourney). Over 350 boats I heard. |
