I have one more question about my fishing set ups... now I have a 6'6 med light. rod with a spinning abu garcia reel on it and a 5'6 med. rod with a zebco spincast reel on it. One will be used with a slip bobber for walleye/sunfish and the other one will be used just for casting into the weeds for bass using lures. Out of the two that i own and listed what rod and reel combo would best fit each?? thanks.... catinthehat

If you are throwing smaller bass baits, you should be ok with your ML rod. A longer rod is nice because it allows a little whipping action to load up the rod and allow some distance. Too whippy will make for unruly cast, so the heavier bass baits may be a problem with your ML rod. Testing will tell. ML designations are not the same in all rods so your experience will tell you how well it works.
Your longer ML rod also is better for sensitivity for jigging and also better for hooksets with a slip bobber. The longer the rod, the more sweep you get to take up the slack line. Be sure to reel up your excess before setting to hook.
Your medium rod may or may not have soft enough tip, relative to your ML rod.
As a wild guess, I would think your longer ML rod is your best all around setup.
Have fun fishing,
