Location: Essexville, MI./Saginaw Bay. | After hearing a few reports about the water getting warmer and the success not being that great out in front of Hoyles or near the Spark Plug anymore from a few of the board members, I decided to head North farther than I've been all summer to try and intercept any walleyes heading to cooler waters. Also was the first day that I had all Cajun Red line on all my reels. Started on the low 47's and trolled North. Ran Rattle tot's 110 back and 1/4 ouncers 90 back. Wulp, for almost 1 hour straight we had fish after fish on. Couldn't get 8 rods set ever during that time. Thing was though, not one single keeper. So I headed the boat back towards the Black hole and things got better. Banged a triple with all being keepers. Then turned south and things really broke loose with doubles and triples and the measuring went on. Ended up with 16 keepers by 1:30 and came in. I'm guessing we boated 45 walleyes or more. I was one big ball of sweat in the back of the boat with the intense heat of today.
