Well, with the new 200HPDI, things have been going smooth. Big difference from the old 60 evinrude vro (now premix), especially in the winter. I can just spin the 60 and get all the water out and good to go.

Now the new yamaha. I'm thinking spinning the motor for a few out of water isnt a good idea. Other than a new heated garage, and trust me, thats not a bad idea, what can I do to make sure water is out of the engine when I river fishing in December?

Will a couple up and downs on the motor get all the water out?

Mark. You HAVE to bump the motor to get out the water. On Marks 200 we put the motor down as soon as we get out of the water, let it sit for a couple of mins ,than we bump it to spit out the water from the head. It wont hurt anything. Also dont forget to also do your kicker even if you didnt use it to get out the water . One thing I do when it is REALLY cold is to pull out my drain plug while the boat is on the ramp to be sure I got all the water out, also while there I bump the pumps to be sure all water is out. Alot of people dont do that , but a bildge or livewell pump dont work if it is frozen.

It was cool. Out riggers for your boat. Looks like we will be eating chilli on the IL for thanksgiving this year. After 27 years strait on going to the Miss that weekend, looks like we have a tourney that weekend on the IL. Dont worry ,,,,there is ALOT more sand for landing the boat on the shore. Wonder how Mark will feel when I`m heating up chilli in his boat!!!!!!!!!!!! HEHEHE

Hey Shep. Let`s get together for another trip on the ice. Had a blast that day. Last day on the boat for me this year is Jan 15th weekend party at Hutch`s and the river. After that I`m game. I have not been on the ice since that day.

Hey for the ice on the gunnels borrow Harry's Bellevue cigarette lighter, you know, the one attached to the top of the 30 lb propane tank.
