| Won't the "first Tuesday of every month" compete with the Illiana Walleye Club? They have a huge membership and have been around for a long time.
I could be wrong, but I thought their meetings were held on the same night. (Somebody please correct me if I am wrong...I'm curious now..lol)
If that's the case, wouldn't it be better to change the night, so that you could possibly get their membership interested?
Sounds like a great plan for a club by the way. Sounds like fun! Good luck!

Location: Elgin, Illinois | Another factor is about 70 miles....
I am a highly prejudiced poster on this thread... I am a member!
We have a very active club... There are PWT, WAT, IWT, MWC, FLW Tour and League participants as well as non-tournament anglers. We have a very cooperative and positive relationship among all of the members... Everyone, from novice to touring pro all participate and enjoy the club equally. In fact, several of the people I have helped recruit state that as their very most obvious reason for being a member.
Finally, I have made some great friends over the last two years...
What more could you want... Oh, you can get some good food and, if you like, adult becerages, during the meeting... Now, top that!!! |

Location: LaCrosse, WI | I would join this club if I lived anywhere near that area. I've met several guys from this club this year at the FLW Walleye League events. I've met Greg and Dennis, and fished Green Bay with Brian Meyer. They all seem like super guys who really care about Walleye Fishing and everything that goes along with it.
I live on the west side of Wisconsin, but wouldn't think twice about joining if I were closer.

Location: Elgin, Illinois | John,
All you'd have to do is leave your house at 5:00 and you'd make the meeting by 7:30... then when it was over at 9:00 pm you get bak home by 11:00 pm...
You don't want to spend 4 1/2 to 5 hours driving for three beers, a cheeseburger and a one hour meeting...LOL |

Location: Elgin, Illinois | We had three guys make the FLW League Championship ... Rob Liszek finished 5th in points on the Co Angler side, and John Clumpner and Brian Meyer also made it into the top 35... Not a bad showing for a group of guys that totaled 11 out of over 150 participants on the Co angler side...
We had a great year with the FLW. Dennis Bennet had a 12th place finish in the Tour event on Green Bay and cashed a nice $800 check. He came back this weekend and finished 2nd in the league event and cashed a $1000 check. Great Job Dennis! Rob Liszek had a great year... he cashed a check in three out of four events... John Clumpner cashed a check in two out of four league events and got a nice $1200 check for his 18th place finish in the Green Bay Tour Event. Other guys who cashed checks in League events were Mark Komo, Brian Meyer and Jeff Meyer.. (hope I didn't leave anybody out...sorry if I did). |
