Location: Essexville, MI./Saginaw Bay. | Had a 1/2 a day trip today. God was it hot and muggy. And the Bay was as flat as I've ever seen it, without so much as a whisper of wind. I knew after setting all 8 lines and trolling for close to an hour without so much as a stretched rubber band I had to shift geers fast. Was marking good size fish right on the bottom, so I put on 2 Silver/Green Herringbone, 2 Silver/red herringbone 1/2 ounce tot's, that haven't been ran or wet for 8 years or better. Put a 1/2 a crawler on the front hooks of each and sent them back 140 feet. This was well within range for them hitting bottom every now and then for the depth I was fishing, and exactly what I wanted them to do. Cranked the 8 horse up to 3.1 mph and things broke loose. Boated 16, kept 11 and they were some very respectable fish compared to some of the catches of this summer as a whole.

| Days like that, don't you just wish for even some small waves to get the wind blowing?
Great reports, WE. More of us should try mixing it up when we get stuck on a certain presentation. | |

Not a problem wallytap. I often get charter referrals from people I've never met because they know, see and use my reports and info on their own fishing trips. I see this occasional trade off as more than an equal value to everyone involved. The ones I helped and refer me, and the ones I've helped and will never meet or see. Its all good.
