Fishing out from Calumet park was fantastic for several weeks, then it seems like the fish just vanished over night, Where did they go? Any thoughts?

Big...

They are moving with the wind and the baitfish. I have been moving as much as a mile a day to find the schools, but they are still there. Once you find them, think slower presentation like a 2 oz bottom bouncer with a harness and your electric motor. By holding the rod in your hand, you will feel the every so slight pickup when they are not in the mood to hammer the crankbaits like the last 2 weeks. I know exactly what you are experiencing, it took me 8 hours the other day to get my first nice fish of the day and than an hour to get the next 10.

They are still there in the area between Calumet Co park and Winnebago Co Boat Landing.

Good luck!!

I can second that. Was out saturday.

Fairly slow day yesterday, trolled same marks as 2 weeks ago and picked up 3 15-17 inchers on cranks. Moved a bit and picked up one more on a harness in the mud. Marked tons of fish and saw schools of whities jumping on the surface today. Moved over to a reef and picked up 16 nice perch.

You can tell the mud bite is slowing down, been picking up some fish, but really having to work for them. Moving around alot to get a few fish here and there, but I guess they are still there if you can put in the time.

Current, shortening days and cooling waters can draw some schools toward the river. The stronger the current the bigger the draw. TONS of food in the river right now too.

Marked some nice pods of fish over the last few days. Nothing higher in the water column. Did get a few eaters deeper, about 2 foot off bottom. Purple seemed to work. Then again, only spent a few hours each day this weekend. Had the 5yo AND 8YO with me. ADD kicks in after about an 1hour. And they dont get trollin for very long.

The slim isnt really to bad this year I was actually really surprised. I trolled all weekand it was never a issue where i had to pull the lines due to much slim. Saturday the water temp was over 80 and sunday it was 73 and up river 71 in butte. The water clarity was very good in comparison to years in the past for this time of year

All the slime washed over to the west shore with the moderate East winds the past several days. Now with the NW & West winds, expect the slime to migrate back east.

The slime is not bad at all for this time of year, trolling is slow right now, but should pik up in a few weeks.

Slime is not bad at all, just depends on the winds and from what direction it has been coming from. Fishing remains fairly slow for me, but I keep trying. Seems like alot of guys out there right now, but lots of them perch fishing right now. Some doing good, others, like me, not so good. Maybe I should hire a guide? I love the lake, just wish I knew it better. Anybody give a tip or two? Thank You.

Reefs and shallow water. I would think the deep, but their shallow. Small jigs and crawlers and leeches will work...but crawlers work better for more fish. Bring enough to battle the sheeps though they love the crawlers.

Fished various NW reefs today from 6am to 11am and caught more than 20 eyes, unfortunately only one was bigger than 14". Lots of 8"-12" fish came anchored & casting jigs or drifting jigs; the one eater was caught pulling harnesses. Almost all fish came in 6'-8' depths, hot pink and chartreuse being the better colors. I did pick-up a few bonus perch though, including a legit 12" - together with the 1 decent eye, I put together a nice lunch.

I take it the troll bite has simmered down. Does this mean the fish off the mud are transitioning back to the reefs?

The eyes are pretty fickle right now. There is TONS of baitfish available so the bite is pretty streaky. Under the right conditions they're hitting well on the reefs (a consistent wind to stir thins up) other than that, its been hit-n-miss.

Perch are biting well though if you're willing to sort through some sheephead. Best presentation has been a crawler on gold #8/#10 hook laying on the bottom. Hard bottoms near transitions areas.

M komo try rock areas and not just rock piles. Look for areas on the map that huge rock structures(east shore) there are 2 or 3 such areas. Were catching fish in 5ft-12fow. Cranks are producing well 20-55back.let your lures tick the bottom that will often trigger the bite.

Start just north of Brothertown, on the north side of Winnebago Point. Troll with #5, black & gold shad raps 45-55 feet back, 8-10 FOW, 1.8-2.0 mph.

Good luck!
