Congratulations and THANKS to all 118 teams that fished the 2006 Mills Fleet Farm Walleye Open tournament.

Saturday was a beautiful sunny day with only thirteen teams not weighing fish and sixty five teams weighing a five fish limit. Sunday started out with wind and rain and turned to overcast with thirty three teams weighing a five fish limit. There was a total of 719 fish caught for a total weight of 1366.96#. The winner’s success came casting jigs with crawlers.

The team of Michael Schwarz and Alex Wilkens took first place with ten fish weighing 27.04# winning them $7,000. Second place went to the team of Greg Golliher and Joe Robl with ten fish totaling 26.48# for $4,500. Third place went to the team of Dave Harding and Bob Ahner with ten fish weighing 25.52# for $3,000. Fourth place went to the team of Dick Hvizdak and Greg DeKalb with ten fish totaling 25.22# for $2,000. Fifth place went to the team of Scott Rohloff and Michael Wright with ten fish weighing 24.70 # for $1,600. The big fish was caught by Gary Will and Doug Will with a 7.10# walleye winning them $600 Big Fish Pot. They also received two plaques donated by All Sport and Trophy, an assortment of Ka Boom lures, and two gift certificates for Anglers Pride. The comeback award went to the team of Paul Bednarak and Doug Zerbe who went from seventy fourth place Saturday to twenty second place Sunday advancing fifty two places to win them a bow mount trolling motor.
