Labor Day Weekend on da Bay

Fished all 4 days up on da bay. East wind really shut down the fish. I spent 12 hours a day on the water and 7 was the best day I could manage in 1 day and those fish came within 30 minutes of the sunrise fishing shallow. 21-23 feet of water northeast of Ganoes produced few fish and none bigger than 22. Purple/Charteuese produced the best. Anyone else have any better luck in the last 4 days. I sure could use some help, otherwise, I'm heading north to Cedar River and the added expense and time to get there.

Fished out of Sturgeon Bay Sunday night for four hours. Sporadic for us as well caught 4 (28",22",18",18"). Missed two on the way into the boat and caught a couple of big smallies.

Water was 70 degrees with an east wind (maybe the water is still a little warm for the fall run? Will be back up on this Friday and Saturday night.

Thanks to all for the quick reports... Headed back out all next week, have to work till friday and then it's decision time, do I go North to Cedar River or East to Sturgeon Bay or will the wind be out of the South or North which has been great for me on Ganoes.

Started fishing at noon Sat. east of Ganoes in 23fow.Two foot waves turned into 5-6 footers by the end of our trolling pass.Opted to put the boat on the trailer. We did catch a 24 and a 27" fish.Got a motel room in Oconto and fished the weeds and a rock bar up there,SundayAM, with no success.Trailered the boat back down to Suamico and fished shallow.11fow, around the point and caught a bunch, all 19-22" and on crawlers.Color didn't matter. We'll try again when weather permits.

Was up at cedar river labor day weekend, could not pull any fish until sunset and after. Better take the lights if your going, it looks like a bumpy forecast, that is not fun after dark.
