| Hit the water today out of Suamico, dead flat calm. I spent 12 hours on the water today pulling harnesses and crank baits and I ended up with 5 fish over 8 pounds. Now for the bad news, they were all Sheephead. But if there is ever a tournament for Sheephead, I got that one covered. The first one I caught broke my heart. I had been on the water since 5 am (it was now 1 in the afternoon) and had not had a hit so I decided to run deep with deep diving husky's in glass perch. I was in 25 feet of water marking a ton of fish. MY first board never made it all the way out when it went shooting back, I actually had to stop my T8 to reel the fish in. I almost cried when I saw that I had double hooked a huge Sheephead and I was bringing it in sideways. That one went 8lbs 7 ozs. After that, I caught 4 more just like it.
Not 1 single Walleye today, my first skunk of the year. I tried everything and about 10 different spots deep and shallow with no luck. Water temp on the west shore was 59 degrees shallow and 65 out deeper.
Next 3 days of south wind should turn things around.

Location: Neenah Wi | We were out on Larsons reef in the morn from about 8:00 to 1:30 pm started on the outside and we did not mark many fish in the 18-30ft zone and decided to move to the inside and as we came to the center of the reef on a deep drop we got our first fish, not a hog a nice 18"fish on a silver holograph blade out 25ft with a 2 oz bottom bouncer. We were marking more fish on the inside so we decided to stick with that and we managed to get 6 fish from18-23" also 1 kitty cat.1 perchof 11"and only2 sheepdhead. The 24-30ft depths were the best until the waves, what little there was died to flat calm and the bite took a crap.We did lose 3-4 nice fish that kept the boards under.I do have a question for you experienced bay fisherman. For these larger fish do you keep your drags on the looser side and let them take the drag for a little while?Seemed to be ripping the hooks after a good hook up as the board was submerged for about 10-15 sec.Best colors were the silver and gold blades.9-1.25mph with a few stalls mixed in as we did get a fish as we were just letting the board out.How long do most fish Larsons reef?Is the fall pretty decent?I would much rather fish closer to home than make the drive to Bay De Noc.Thanks
