Location: Appleton | Congratulations and THANKS to the twenty five teams that qualified and fished the MWS Championship in Menominee, MI, fishing Bay of Green Bay. Following the tournament there was an awards banquet for the anglers and their guest.
Also Thanks to all the teams that fished the 2006 MWS season and also Thanks to all the sponsors of the MWS.
The weather was great but the fish didn’t cooperate for most of the teams. The winning team’s success came fishing around the Cedar River.
The team of Rob Krause and Dave Dretske took first place with a four fish limit weighing 23.38# winning them $4,000. Second place went to the team of John Clumpner and Rob Schmitt with four fish totaling 22.02# for $2200. They also had the big fish with an 8.54# walleye winning them the Big Fish Pot. They also received two plaques donated by All Sport and Trophy, an assortment of Ka Boom lures, and two gift certificates for Anglers Pride Specialties. Third place went to the team of Lee and Brenda Georgenson with two fish weighing 7.46# for $1700. Fourth place went to the team of G W Kadow and Tony Marcelle with one fish weighing 6.64# for $1,200. Fifth place went to the team of Joe Hackett and Dave Hackett with two fish weighing 5.74# for $1,000.
A total of 18 fish were caught weighing 80.96#.
The 2006 Team of the year was awarded to Rob Krause and Dave Dretzke from Berlin, WI. The 2006 Husband/Wife Team of the year was awarded to the team of Joe and Kim Boehnlein Chilton, WI. The Parent/Child Team of the year was awarded to Jim O’Brien Sr. and Chris O’Brien from Waukesha, WI. The Sibling Team of the Year was awarded to Joe Mans from Pestigo, WI and John Mans from Menominee, MI. The Dick (Hack) Hackbarth memorial award was given to the team of Ted Winkelman and Shawn McLaughlin.
