| Hi Guys,
Had a problem last november with my aluminum boat freezing to my trailer bunks-
Was a real pain to get the boat off of the trailer-
Friends have recommeded Liquid Roller and others have told me that Glyde Sticks work well on the bunks. Has anyone tried either of these? Was wondering if the liquid roller would freeze or the Sticks would hurt the bottom of my boat. Thanks in advance. SB |

| I guess I don't understand how freezing is a problem, sure it sticks and is an inconvience, but any boat I've seen freeze to the bunks will usually thaw out very quickly once backed into the water. (couple minutes tops). I think I'd rather it freeze and stick than to end up like the guy in the picture above.

| Try spraying silicone on the bunks. You can buy it at any hardware store. Just remember to ONLY un-hook when you reach the water, or else you will end up like the guy in that pic! |

| Here on the Mississippi River we are fishing year round, oftentimes in the middle of January at Genoa.
Your boat will occationally freeze to the bunks but as Jayman says the water will thaw it off. The other suggestions are good also, but take the extra step and unhook when you are in the water, not at the top of the ramp.
Carry a bucket of sand and salt mix in your truck. A shovel and a spud bar are also handy sometimes.
Let your boat and trailer drain at the bottom of the ramp before pulling up the ramp.
Tilt your motor down after pulling out and let the water drain. Turn the engine over and let it run a few seconds to blow out the excess.

Location: Chicago IL. | I have seen that boat on the ramp trick a few times. People forget that the water is froze on the bunks and on the next time out it shoots the boat off. Great tips Zach but the most important one is please drain your trailer at the water. It makes it easier for everybody and saves alot of crashes. |

| I also don't advise trying to show off for the girlfriend with mom's new SUV! Dropped the front wheels of the concrete, and sucked a bunch of Fox River water into the engine!
