Location: Manitowoc, WI | I'm finishing up the last of the WI gun deer season at work, which isn't what I originally had in mind, but given the warm weather and the lack of deer movement where I hunt (Marquette County) since opening weekend, it isn't all bad.
I am leaving for season two of Iowa's gun deer season in December. I was fortunate enough to draw a tag for Appanoose County, which is big buck central. I'm hoping to get the wallhanger I've always dreamed of there.
How did your WI deer season go? My son Brandon, age 13, sat with me during the gun season and he shot a decent sized doe on opening day. We passed on 4 bucks on opening day along with another 10-12 does or fawns. My brother shot a decent 8 pter and my Dad finished off a 6 pter that someone else wounded. Funny thing happened to that deer: it was at the slaughter house and was to be picked up Saturday morning. On the way to Russell's meat market in Oxford, my Dad learned that the meat market burned down overnight!! Now he wants me to shoot an antlerless deer for him in Iowa (I have two tags)!!

Location: McFarland, WI | No deer moving. Got one doe with the gun and a bigger one with the car. That meat will be over $200/lb after the trimming. Deer were deep in the thick stuff after opening day up in Vilas county and you had to drive them out.

| Jerry, all is well here in central WI. We were fortunate enough to harvest a few bucks this season. Last year we had to weed out the does and it really paid off. Left us with bucks that wanted to move in search of a mate. All in all another great season and we are thankfull to be able to hunt although from the sounds of it, I could have been catchin' biguns in Baydenoc!
Good Luck
